Terms of Service

These terms govern engagements between Mavoryne Studio Ltd and its clients. Where a signed scope of work says something different, the signed scope wins.

Scope and quotes

Every engagement begins with a written scope listing deliverables, timeline and a fixed fee. The quote is valid for 30 days. Work does not begin until the scope is signed and the deposit has cleared.

Fees and payment

Fifty per cent of the fee is due on signature and fifty per cent on delivery, unless the scope says otherwise. Retainers are invoiced monthly in advance. Invoices are payable within 14 days. Late payment accrues interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

Changes to scope

Anything outside the signed scope is quoted in writing and only produced once you approve it. We do not invoice for unapproved work. If a change makes the original timeline impossible we will say so before accepting it.

Cancellation

If you cancel more than 21 days before the first production date, the deposit is refunded less costs already committed. Inside 21 days the deposit is retained, as crew, studio and talent bookings are non-refundable by then. Retainers require 60 days written notice.

Intellectual property and licensing

On final payment you receive a licence to use the delivered assets across all media in all territories for 24 months from delivery, unless the scope states a different term. Mavoryne retains ownership of the underlying works and of unselected material. Extensions are quoted at cost. Third-party rights — talent, music, locations — are limited to the terms secured at the time of production and are listed in the delivery note.

Credit and portfolio use

We may show delivered work in our portfolio, on this site and in pitch materials once it has been published by you. If a project is embargoed, tell us the release date in writing and we will hold until then.

Liability

Our total liability for any engagement is limited to the fees paid for that engagement. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit or of anticipated savings. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
